The Sullivan County Planning & Codes Department serves several boards and commissions each month. Each board meets once a month at the Historic Courthouse Commission Room, which is located on the 2nd floor. The following are the regular scheduled meeting dates and times:
- Sullivan County Board of County Commissioners – 3rd Monday of every month at 9:00AM (includes Rezoning Public Hearings)
- Sullivan County Regional Planning Commission – 3rd Tuesday of every month at 6:00PM
- Sullivan County Board of Zoning Appeals – 3rd Wednesday of every month at 5:00PM
- Sullivan County Board of Construction Appeals - 3rd Wednesday of every month immediately following the BZA hearing
- Sullivan County Regional Historic Zoning Commission – 3rd Thursday at 3:00PM (as needed)
- Sullivan County Property Maintenance Board – 1st Thursday at 6:00PM – meets quarterly as needed
All meetings are open to the public. All meetings are published in the County Calendar each month as noted in the local newspapers. Special Called Meetings will be posted in the Kingsport Times News. Public Hearings for any Rezoning Requests or Amendments to the Zoning Resolution, shall be posted in the Kingsport Times News a minimum of 15 days prior to the hearing, in accordance with the TCA 13-7-105 (State Law).
